Did You Know These Celebs are From Arizona?
Arizona is one of the most environmentally diverse states in the nation. With just a three hour drive you can go from the desert of Phoenix to the lush forest landscape of Flagstaff. Because of this incredible atmosphere it’s no surprise that several celebs have called Arizona their home. Here are some of the hottest (no pun intended) celebs who live in the great state of Arizona.
Arizona-native Chester Bennington was born in Phoenix in 1976 to working class parents. After a troublesome youth experimenting with drugs, Chester cleaned up his act and founded the hard-rock band Linkin Park. The band saw considerable success in the early millennia with their records Hybrid Theory and Meteora. With over 10 million in record sales you would think Bennington would relocate, but he still owns a home in the Valley where he performs regularly.
The SNL comedian and partner to the late-great Chris Farley was born in Birmingham, Michigan but got his comedy start at Arizona State University. Spade began performing stand-up before the long running Farce Side Comedy Hour, which still hosts weekly shows at the ASU Memorial Union stage.
Emma Stone, born Emily, grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona before moving to Los Angeles in pursuit of her acting dreams. Stone got her first taste of acting at the popular children’s theater company, Valley Youth Theater located in Downtown Phoenix. From humble beginnings, Stone has earned Oscar nominations for her performances in Birdman and The Help.
Jimmy Eat World’s eponymous lead singer was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. He founded the band in 1993 with a fusion of alternative rock and pop punk flavor. While the band has declined in popularity Adkins and Jimmy Eat World still tour regularly. Adkins was recently featured in the AZ Rock Lottery hosted at Downtown’s Crescent Ballroom.
We couldn’t have a list of Arizona celebs without including Stevie Nicks, who was born at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix. Nicks would go on to become one of the most prolific female singers in rock history. As a member of Fleetwood Mac, Nicks was the voice of a generation who penned tunes like “Landslide” and “Dreams”
